Chewy Chocolate Chip and Toffee Bit Cookies

inspired by Hershey Chipits

Ingredients

2/3 cup Butter, melted
2 cups Brown Sugar, lightly packed
2 ea. Eggs, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. Hot Water
2 2/3 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 pkg. Milk Chocolate Chips
1 cup Toffee bits

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Beat melted butter, brown sugar, eggs and hot water until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add into butter mixture; stir until well incorporated.
  4. Stir in milk chocolate chips and toffee bits.
  5. Drop from small tablespoon onto ungreased, parchment lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool 1 minute; remove to wire rack.

Recipe Notes

  1. Makes approx. 5 dozen cookies.
  2. Variety can be added to this recipe by changing up or adding other types of chips and bits into the dough - for example, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, M&M's, Reese's Pieces, peppermint candy bits, etc.
